Dyeann’s House was founded by the three Lions Clubs of Jonesboro,
Arkansas. Our support facility is named to honor the memory of Dyeanna
Shaver Poe, wife of one of our members, Lion Mark Poe. Dyeann passed
away after suffering from a brain tumor and left three small children.
Circumstances faced by Dyeann and her family still exist all too frequently.
Children must face a multitude of daily stresses when a parent becomes
seriously ill. Taking this concern to heart, Dyeann's House made it
our goal to provide the service of helping children cope with these
stresses. Parents who are in need of long-term medical treatment, are
caring for a family member, or even have a routine doctor's appointment can
use our facility.
When Dyeann's House began we were aware of three
things: first, that Jonesboro is a medical hub for Northeast Arkansas;
second, that there is a GREAT and continuing need for such a service as
ours; lastly and most important it was found that there was no service that
met the needs of many families coping medical related issues. In
response, Dyeann's House was born, with the goal of bringing support to
children who may be suffering due to the illness of a parent or guardian.
